As stated by the World Health Organisation, there are over 31 million individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in India. And yet, very few people are aware of what to expect from a child on the spectrum. Societies still shun those with different mental abilities for no fault of theirs. The sole reason for this pernicious behavior is the lack of information, instruction and awareness.

SOUTH OF INDIA:

At IAC, we are committed to replacing myths about developmental disabilities with medically verified knowledge. As a part of this endeavor, we are honored to be the Kolkata partner for Nayi Disha- a national information resource initiative. The aim is to collate information (that ranges from details of therapy service provisions to factually correct articles) from caretakers of an individual with special needs and provide them to other caretakers and the larger world in an easy and accessible manner.
